SUMMER FOREVER

Zupa Bay is located along the southern edge of the Dubrovnik Riviera in Croatia. A 19 km walk around the bay, between the town of Cavtat to the city of Dubrovnik, reveals the holiday resorts Plat, Mlini and Kupari. In 1991 the bay was pulled into conflict when naval ships surrounded the bay and attacked the area around Dubrovnik. During the siege the hotels Kupari, Pelegrin, Gorcina, Grand, Belvedere and Ambassador were destroyed, and following the war the luxury hotel complexes were stripped of everything of value. Years of looting, plundering and illegal raves left them as nothing more than desolate buildings. Today these immense structures sit abandoned along the regions beaches, standing as monuments to the Croatian conflict of independence.
